Virat Kohli breaks silence on Bengaluru stampede tragedy

Former India captain and RCB star Virat Kohli has finally spoken on the tragic Bengaluru stampede that took place during the team’s IPL 2025 victory celebration on June 4 The incident outside the M Chinnaswamy Stadium claimed 11 lives and left many others injured turning a moment of joy into heartbreak Sharing his thoughts through RCB’s official social media Kohli called it one of the toughest moments of his career Nothing in life really prepares you for a heartbreak like June 4 What should have been the happiest moment in our franchise’s history turned into something tragic he wrote.
Kohli also sent his prayers to the affected families I’ve been thinking of and praying for the families of those we lost and for our fans who were injured. Your loss is part of our story now Together we will move forward with care respect and responsibility he added Along with Kohli’s statement the franchise announced a program called RCB Cares which will provide financial support to the families and also focus on improving safety and crowd management in future events.
The tragedy took place when thousands of fans gathered outside the stadium after RCB’s maiden IPL title win Kohli’s heartfelt words now bring comfort to many supporters who are still grieving while also highlighting the team’s responsibility beyond the field.
