Helping Road accident victim will fetch you financial reward; says Union Ministry of a Transport and Highways

The amount rewarded to“ good Samaritan ” would be 5000 per incident.
Any person who save the life of a victim road accident by taking them to hospital within ‘golden hour’ will be given financial rewards, the Union of Transport and Highways has said after issuing the guidelines for the same.

The amount would be given only after receipt of communication from police or hospital, a district level appraisal committee will review and approve the proposals of the same after that the reward would be given on monthly basis.

The golden hour has only duration of 60 mins to send victim of accident to the hospital. Also, 5 lakh rupees has been distributed by ministry to the states for distribution of rewards.

The implementation of the scheme would be done from today and the state level monitoring committed under chairmanship of Principal Secretory (Home) for effective implementation of the scheme .

He said in a statement of Tuesday “Any individual who has saved life of victim of fatal accident involving a motor vehicle administering the immediate assistance and rushing to the hospital for treatment of victim within golden hour of accident would be eligible for the reward .An individual good Samaritan would be rewarded maximum 5 times in a year.”
