June 30, 2022 (New Delhi): Eknath Shinde will be the Chief Minister of Maharashtra, not Devendra Fadnavis. This was announced by Devendra Fadnavis himself in the presence of Shinde. Shinde will take oath as the Chief Minister at the Raj Bhavan at 7.30 pm. Fadnavis said “Today only Eknath Shinde will be sworn in. I will be out of Eknath Shinde’s cabinet.”
He said “Balasaheb formed the government with such people with whom he fought throughout his life. There was no progress for two and a half years.” The government of Maha Vikas Aghadi ran under the leadership of Uddhav. Many Shiv Sena leaders were upset with Uddhav Thackeray over the Maha Vikas Aghadi government.
He further added “In 2019, BJP and Shiv Sena fought elections together. We got absolute majority at that time. We got a big victory under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.” Fadnavis said “Eknath Shinde kept telling Uddhav Thackeray that you get out of the Mahavikas Aghadi (Congress-NCP-Shiv Sena alliance) government, but Uddhav Thackeray did not listen to Eknath Shinde.”
At the same time, Eknath Shinde said “You all know the decision I took. You also know under what circumstances the decision was taken. I will work to advance Balasaheb’s Hindutva. All 50 MLAs are together. We told the Chief Minister many times about the problems in our assembly constituency. The Chief Minister never paid much attention to our words.”
Eknath Shinde further said “Devendra Fadnavis is far ahead of us in terms of numbers. He has 106 MLAs of his own. But showing a big heart, he has done the work of taking forward the thoughts of Balasaheb. It is difficult to find a person like Devendra Fadnavis. Giving such a big post to someone else is a lot of work in politics. A Shiv Sainik of Balasaheb Thackeray has been given a chance and 50 MLAs who are with me. I thank all of them too. All these people have supported a small worker like Eknath Shinde. Also, 39 Shiv Sena and 11 independents are with us. We will work hard day and night to fulfill what the people of this state have expected.”
