David VS Goliath! World Number One Novak Djokovic will take on the dark horse Stefanos Tsitsipas in the French Open 2021 Final.

After a grueling and intense set of matches at the French Open, the tennis world will be witnessing a blockbuster of a final between the two different generations. On one end we have World Number One Novak Djokovic and on the other hand, we have the dark horse from Greece Stefanos Tsitsipas.

Victory for the Serbian star Novak Djokovic will take him alongside Roy Emerson and Rod Laver as the only men to capture the four major title more than once. It is a rare achievement that hasn’t happened since 1969 when Rod Laver completed his second calender Grand Slam. While Stefanos Tsitsipas has already become the first player from Greece to reach a Grand Slam Final.

If we talk about history, the duo has met 7 times, where the Serbian star has got the better of his Greek counterpart on 5 occasions. In last year’s semi-final Stefanos Tsitsipas was outclassed by the same player and the Greek Star will be all set to seek revenge in the French Open Clash today.

For the unversed Stefanos Tsitsipas was once described by Novak Djokovic as having ‘the traits of Champion’ and today he will hope to prove the Serb’s glowing reference was not a misjudgment.

The charismatic 22-year-old, widely considered to be ‘NextGen’ of the sports will look to land the first significant body blow on the old guard when he tackles him for the French Open Title. This will be Djokovic’s 29th Grand Slam Final and he will be facing a man who is playing at this stage of a major for the first time.

The stage is set and it promises to be a fascinating contest. While the 22-year-old Greek boasts a big serve with a thunderous forehead, he is up against arguably the greatest returner of serve the sport has ever seen. Tsitsipas can make history by becoming the youngest male Grand Slam winner since Juan Martin Del Potro who has 20 when he secured the US open Title in 2009.

Moreover, The world number 1 will be on the verge of history as his 19th Grand Slam Triumph would take him to within one of Nadal and Roger Federer’s record tally.
