1. Nirav Modi’s brother Nehal Modi charged for stealing diamonds worth $1 million in New York.
Nehal Modi, who is a brother of PNB- Scam accused jeweller Nirav Modi has been charged in the US for stealing of the diamonds worth $1 million from a US based jewellers LLD Diamonds.
Mr. Modi allegedly made ‘false representations’ to obtain more than $2.6 million worth of gems from LLD Diamonds USA on favorable credit terms and consignment, and then liquidated them for his own ends, according to a December 18 statement from the office of the Manhattan District Attorney, Cy Vance Junior.
2. Protesting Farmers to halt toll collection on Highways in Haryana from December 25-27.
The protesting farmers will organise a day-long relay hunger strike Monday and block all toll collection on the national highways in Haryana from December 25-27.
3. Australia to impose travel restrictions on Sydney residents amid increasing COVID- 19 Cases.
Sydney: Sydney was isolated from the rest of Australia on Sunday after all of the country`s states and territories imposed travel restrictions on its residents as a coronavirus cluster in the city grew to around 70.
The Australian Capital Territory (ACT) sent a stern `do not come to us` message to Sydney, the country`s most populous city of more than five million people, warning its residents they would be quarantined for 14 days if they arrived.
4. Four Pakistanis arrested for September 25 knife attack in Paris.
Paris: Paris: Four people have been arrested in France as part of an investigation into a knife attack in Paris on September 25, a judicial source said on Friday.
The source told Reuters that one of those held has been charged with a terrorism-related offence and placed in custody in the southwestern Gironde region.
