“Allegations Surface: Swati Maliwal Reportedly Assaulted at Kejriwal’s Residence, Police Respond to Calls”

On Monday, the Delhi Police responded to two distress calls originating from the residence of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, alleging that Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) member Swati Maliwal had been assaulted on the premises.
Sources familiar with the matter revealed that Maliwal, who had been absent from the country for several weeks and had limited involvement during the chief minister’s recent entanglement in an excise police case, had visited Kejriwal’s residence with the intention of meeting him.
However, she was purportedly obstructed by Kejriwal’s personal assistant, Bibhav Kumar. When contacted for comment, Maliwal reportedly disconnected the calls.

An officer from the Delhi Police’s operations cell confirmed the receipt of two calls concerning the incident, one of which explicitly identified Maliwal as the victim and accused Kumar of mistreating her. Police promptly dispatched three vans to the location specified in the calls but found no evidence of the alleged altercation.
Subsequently, Maliwal briefly visited the Civil Lines Police Station but left without filing a formal complaint, leaving the reason for her departure unclear. Meanwhile, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Delhi spokesperson Praveen Shankar Kapoor urged the Chief Minister’s Office to address the situation and dispel any rumors surrounding the incident.
Kapoor, citing unspecified sources, alleged a clash between Kejriwal’s aide and a senior female leader at the residence around 9:15 a.m., accompanied by a police call. Expressing concern over the safety of a former women’s panel chief within the Chief Minister’s premises, Kapoor demanded a response from Kejriwal, terming the incident a grave matter warranting attention.
