Arrest Warrants Issued Against Four Members of Chadha Family in ₹1.91 Crore Forgery Case
Moradabad Court Issues Non-Bailable Warrants After Liquor Businessman and Family Repeatedly Fail to Appear in Partnership Embezzlement Case
Court Orders Action Against Prominent Moradabad Family
In a significant legal development in Moradabad, a local court has issued non-bailable arrest warrants (NBW) against four members of the prominent Chadha family in connection with a multi-crore case of forgery and embezzlement. The charges stem from a complaint alleging the siphoning off of funds after a partnership agreement was terminated.
The case, which revolves around a dispute involving approximately ₹1.91 crore, was registered at the Civil Lines Police Station. The complainant, Gopal Mishra, a resident of Budhbazaar Krishna Colony, accused his former business partners of financial misconduct.
Accused Named in Chargesheet Fail to Appear
The four individuals against whom the non-bailable warrants have been issued are Harbhajan Singh Chadha (identified as a liquor businessman), his wife Jaspreet Kaur, their son Gurjit Singh Chadha, and Gurjit’s wife, Tamanna Chadha.
The investigative wing of the Civil Lines Police filed a comprehensive chargesheet just eight days after the initial First Information Report (FIR) was lodged, confirming the allegations of fraud and embezzlement. Following the chargesheet, the court first issued a regular summon, then a bailable warrant, and finally, a more stringent warrant in October. Despite repeated judicial orders, the four named accused consistently failed to appear before the court, leading to the latest, more severe action.
Non-Bailable Warrant Issued by Court
Sub-Inspector Manish Saxena of the Civil Lines Police confirmed that the court of the Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate (ACJM) issued the non-bailable warrants against the four named individuals on Saturday. This legal step mandates the immediate arrest of the accused persons.
As of the latest report, the police are actively conducting search operations to trace and apprehend the Chadha family members. The action underscores the judiciary’s commitment to ensuring that individuals, regardless of their standing, adhere to judicial processes. The resolution of this long-standing financial dispute is now expected to accelerate with the force of the newly issued arrest warrants.
