Asia Cup 2025: India vs Pakistan Match Creates Big Discussion
By Abhishek Kumar

The Asia Cup 2025 will be held from September 9 to 28 in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). This time, the tournament will be played in T20 format (20 overs per side).
A total of 8 teams will take part: India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, UAE, Oman, and Hong Kong.
The most talked about match is between India and Pakistan, which is set for September 14. If both teams win in the group stage, they may meet again in the Super Four round and maybe even in the final on September 28.
Why People Are Angry
Many people in India are angry because of a recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam (Jammu & Kashmir). Indian soldiers were killed, and the army started Operation Sindoor to fight back.
After this, people feel that India should not play cricket against Pakistan, as Pakistan has been linked to supporting such attacks. Some believe that playing the match is not the right message.
In fact, earlier this month, India refused to play against Pakistan in another tournament called the World Championship of Legends (WCL). That match was cancelled.
Who is Saying What?
Former cricketer Manoj Tiwary said, “How can we play with Pakistan when our soldiers are still fighting?”
But Sourav Ganguly, another former captain, said, “Sport must go on. If the government allows, then the match should happen.”
What Will Happen If India Skips the Match?
If India refuses to play, then Pakistan will get full points, and India will lose that match by default. This may hurt India’s chances of reaching the final.
Final Decision Not Yet Made
The BCCI (Indian cricket board) has not made a final decision. The Indian government said that BCCI will decide what to do.
For now, the match is still on the schedule.
