Sanju Box Office Collection Day 12: Ranbir Kapoor-Starrer Continues It’s Winnig Streak

Sanju is currently unstoppable at the box office. Although the film is Ranbir Kapoor’s high grosser ever, it could also be Rajkumar Hirani’s highest earner too.

Ranbir who portrayed the character of Sanjay Dutt on-screen was praised for his impeccable acting skills along with Vicky Kaushal who was lauded by several quarters from the country. It featured yesteryear characters of Sunil Dutt and Nargis Dutt who were the golden stars from the 50s to the 70s.
After a successful first week run, the film has now earned a total of Rs 282.50 crore at the box office.

According to trade analyst Sumit Kadel, Sanju has become an all-time blockbuster which earned Rs 8 crore on Tuesday. The film had beaten Baahbali 2 for the highest earner on a single day by earning Rs 46.71 crore. With the new numbers, it seems that Sanju will beat Aamir Khan’s Dhoom 3’s lifetime box office collection.

Sanju has already zoomed past Salman Khan’s Kick and Shah Rukh Khan’s Chennai Express. The movie shows an undying bond between a father and a son while manoeuvring through Sanjay Dutt’s battle with drug addiction.  Being a biopic on Sanjay Dutt, the film has received positive reviews from all quarters while Ranbir regarded as one of the best actors in Bollywood

The film stars Ranbir as Sanjay Dutt, Paresh Rawal as Sunil Dutt, Manisha Koirala as Nargis Dutt, Dia Mirza as Manayata, Vicky Kaushal, Sonam Kapoor and Anushka Sharma.

Is Neetu Kapoor a controlling Mom to Ranbir?

Ranbir Kapoor’s relationship with women he dated (Deepika Padukone, Katrina Kaif, Mahira Khan) have made as much headlines as his special bond with mom Neetu Kapoor.  The actor has confessed he’s a mumma’s boy. Ranbir who is fresh out of Sanju’s success is ecstatic and ready to compete with Ranveer Singh and Varun Dhawan. With his first film, Sanju becoming such a huge box office success the actor is looking forward to a long successful stint ahead.

But let’s move away from the man of the moment to his mommy. Neetu Kapoor had doled out a rather candid interview to Firstpost in 2011. The yesteryear actress made some revelations in this chat that we bet fans cannot miss. Here’s what Neetu Singh has to say about Ranbir Kapoor and his relationships

#Mommy knows the best

When the actress was asked what about her son she’d like to change, Neetu Kapoor said:

“He is too soft. He can’t hurt anybody. It’s the same with his relationships, he does not know how to say no, and gets into the deep end! I see it happening and can do nothing about it.

The first time he felt involved, I knew the girl was not right for him. But when I told him, he rebelled. So I learnt to tackle it another way. I told him don’t get serious so soon, the more you see the more you know and learn, so meet many girls, and go out with them , but don’t commit yet. But I have learnt to not be an irritant. I say it once and move away. It works.”

#This is what mom thinks of her Casanova sonAccording to Ranbir’s mother the actor has never approached a girl first, which means everyone RK Jr has dated from Deepika Padukone to Alia Bhatt, were the ones to make the first move and woo the actor into saying a yes. Neetu Kapoor said:
“I think he is charming, but he is very shy. I don’t see him approaching a girl. It’s they who make the first move, and he is too soft to say no, and gets involved. But he does confide in me, sometimes asks my advice. And I speak to him like a friend, and even try to get him out of an involvement if that is the best option.”

When Deepika Padukone and Ranbir Kapoor broke up, it was reported that the actress had caught RK red handed cheating. Buzz also suggested that Deepika did not manage to impress Ranbir’s mom Neetu and hence the relationship did not work out. Even during Katrina Kaif and Ranbir’s break-up rumour was that Neetu Kapoor did not approve of Katrina. Apparently, she was not happy when her son moved out with the actress from their family home. Ranbir and Katrina were in a live-in relationship, but soon after the split RK too left their house.

Well, director Rajkumar Hirani was also in a dilemma as to whether include Sanjay in the movie or not. Though Deccan Chronicle has reported that makers eventually went ahead with the idea. “It felt like an intrusion in the creative process. The minute you introduce the real character in a biopic, you provide visual proof of how far your creativity is from reality. But the makers realised that the audience would be expecting the real Sanjay Dutt to show up at least once. Besides, Ranbir was okay with it,” a source was quoted by the news daily.

Sanju also stars Paresh Rawal, Anushka Sharma, Sonam Kapoor, Dia Mirza, Karishma Tanna, Vicky Kaushal, Jim Sarbh amongst others.

A new song from Sanju, the Sanjay Dutt biopic directed by RajKumar Hirani, is out. Called Kar Har Maidan Fateh, it shows Sanjay’s struggle with drugs.

By now, we all have a sense that Rajkumar Hirani’s Sanju could be Ranbir Kapoor’s best-ever performance to date.
