Women’s World Cup South Africa Dominate New Zealand

In a thrilling match of ICC Women’s ODI World Cup 2025 played at Holkar Stadium Indore South Africa Women beat New Zealand Women by 6 wickets. Batting first New Zealand scored 231 runs in 47.5 overs. For New Zealand Captain Sophie Devine played a brilliant innings of 85 runs and Brooke Halliday supported well with 45 runs South Africa’s left arm spinner Nonkululeko Mlaba bowled outstanding and took 4 wickets for 40 runs breaking New Zealand’s strong partnership and stopping them at a below-par total.
In chase South Africa started confidently. Opener Tazmin Brits once again played a match-winning knock and scored a superb 101 runs off 89 balls hitting 15 fours and 1 six. She built a solid 159-run partnership with Sune Luus who remained unbeaten on 83 runs. With their brilliant batting South Africa chased down the target easily in just 40.5 overs with 55 balls remaining.
After a poor performance against England in the last match this victory gives South Africa a big boost. With this win the Proteas strengthened their position in the tournament and will next face India on October 9 in Visakhapatnam.
