Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman treatment and Stress cool down process begins

Nearly two-week long debriefing of Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman has now come to an end. He spent around 60 hours in Pakistan. He was captured during a dogfight on February 27.

His medical treatment has also concluded and he will be going on a sick leave for at least three weeks before joining the duty. The top heads of IAF will now review his medical fitness to decide whether he can return to fighter cockpit as desired by him.

The debriefing sessions was a part of a cooling down process and was taken by the security agencies. He was captured by the Pakistanis jets during an aerial combat, when he downed an F-16 fighter of Pakistan before his Mig-21 was shot.

Varthaman was released on the night of March 1 by Pakistan. The IAF pilot is now seen as the hero of the Nation.
