When “Dhai Kilo ka hath” extended his support for Menstrual Hygiene Campaign #YesIBleed

Delhi: In an effort to educate girls on menstruation, a menstrual hygiene awareness camp was held on 18th of November 2019 at GGSSS School, C- Block, Dilshad Garden which started around 12:00 PM. Sunny Deol graced the occasion by marking his presence at #YesIBleed campaign. More than 1000 girls were actively involved in this MHM camp where they were asked questions and were given important tips to be hygienic and safe during periods.

The event started with an opening speech by IAS Abhishek Singh who has adopted that school for a year. It was followed by an interactive session by
IAS Durga Shakti Nagpal, Mr Madan Mohit Bhardwaj – founder of SheWings, RJ Raunac(Baua). Harshita Bhardwaj-CMO said “Incorrect and incomplete information can lead to various physical problems”

After these interactive sessions, Actor and MP from Gurdaspur Sunny Deol arrived and interacted with the kids. He appreciated the IAS couple Mr Singh and Ms Nagpal for the initiative. He then gave a speech about how SheWings is a great initiative and how more people should be involved in it. There was a session conducted by SheWings on period yoga.

Renowned personalities like Mrs Anca Verma – Former Miss Romania, donated Sanitary products and interacted with the girls. She said” Often there is a lack of vocabulary by teachers when addressing these topics. This workshop is a huge success when looking at the involvement of these young girls.” Youtube singer Mukda Saxena also graced the occasion with several reprised version of Bollywood tracks.

This whole camp led to GGSSS, Dilshad Garden being the first school to conduct an event of this scale and nature in Delhi. We want this school to act as a model for the rest of the schools in the world.” – IAS Durga Shakti Nagpal.
