The much-awaited trailer for War 2, the latest chapter in the YRF Spy Universe, has finally dropped
and it’s nothing short of a spectacle. Featuring Bollywood powerhouse Hrithik Roshan, South Indian
superstar Jr NTR, and Kiara Advani, the film promises high-octane action, intense face-offs, and
globe-spanning drama.
Directed by Ayan Mukerji, War 2 picks up where its 2019 predecessor left off, taking viewers deeper
into the world of espionage. Hrithik Roshan returns as Major Kabir Dhaliwal, a conflicted soldier
grappling with his past. This time, he’s pitted against Jr NTR’s enigmatic character, whose all-ornothing approach makes him a formidable adversary.
The trailer teases thrilling sequences set across various global locations, including jaw-dropping aerial
battles, heart-pounding train-top duels, and high-speed chases on speedboats. Kiara Advani makes
her entry into the YRF Spy Universe with flair, portraying a bold and fierce persona, seen pulling off
sleek stunts.
Written by Shridhar Raghavan with dialogues by Abbas Tyrewala, War 2 is the sixth film in Yash Raj
Films’ expanding Spy Universe. The film will hit cinemas on August 14, 2025, just ahead of
Independence Day.
Jr NTR, introduced earlier this year in a teaser released on May 20, plays a pivotal role and is
rumored to be the antagonist. His mysterious character’s rivalry with Kabir forms the core of this
installment.
Fans of the original War, which starred Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff and became one of 2019’s top
earners with ₹200 crore collected in just one week, can expect an even grander experience in this
sequel.
War 2 is produced by Aditya Chopra under the Yash Raj Films banner and is set for a box office
showdown with Coolie, another highly anticipated film directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj and starring
Rajinikanth.
With a stellar ensemble cast including Soubin Shahir, Upendra, Nagarjuna, Sathyaraj, and
Shruti Haasan, the Independence Day weekend is shaping up to be a cinematic feast.
As anticipation builds, War 2 looks ready to set a new benchmark in Indian action cinema.
