Virat Kohli Begins ODI Comeback Training in London

By Abhishek Kumar

Indian cricket legend Virat Kohli has started training for his much-awaited return to One Day Internationals (ODIs). The former captain began his practice sessions in London on Friday, August 8, with the help of Naeem Amin, assistant coach of Gujarat Titans.

Kohli shared a picture from the indoor nets on Instagram, thanking Amin with the caption, “Thanks for helping out with the hit, brother. Always lovely to see you.” In the photo, he was dressed in a grey T-shirt and blue shorts, looking relaxed yet focused as he worked on his batting rhythm.
This comeback is important because Kohli has already retired from Test cricket and T20 Internationals. ODIs are now his only active format, and his return will add valuable experience to India’s batting order.

According to reports, Kohli is aiming to be fully ready for the three-match ODI series against Australia, scheduled from October 19 to 25, 2025. The series is expected to be a key preparation step for India ahead of future ICC tournaments.
Kohli comes into this comeback after a successful IPL 2025 season with Gujarat Titans, where he consistently performed and impressed fans. His early training in London shows his determination to stay in top shape and be match-ready well before the series.

Fans are already celebrating the news on social media, sharing posts and counting down the days until they see him back in the Indian jersey. For many, Kohli’s ODI return is not just about runs—it’s about the energy and confidence he brings to the team.

If all goes as planned, Virat Kohli will walk out to bat against Australia this October, ready to make his mark once again in the 50-over format.
