“Tragic Loss: Aspiring NEET Student’s Suicide Shocks Moradabad Community”
It was 23rd January, 2024 when a 19 year old aspiring NEET aspirant from Uttar Pradesh, Moradabad who was resided in Rajiv Gandhi Nagar near the Jawahar Nagar police station had allegedly committed suicide by hanging to the ceiling fan of his hostel room.
KOTA, earlier known as Kota is a City situated in the south east of Northern India which is Rajasthan. To pursue academic excellence India’s young students are facing a mental health crisis. Kota has sparked a nationwide crisis as the pressure of cracking competitive exams are taking the lives of the students.
Last year there has been 26 suicide cases in Kota, Rajasthan as the highest figure so far, were lakhs of students reached from across the country every year to give medical and engineering entrance exams, JEE, NEET and many more.
“As per the district administration, took action against the hostel for not following the safety norms for the safety of the students”, Kota district collector Dr. Ravindra Goswami said in his interview to the media. As inquiry was initiated by the district magistrate court after a student allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself to the ceiling fan in the hostel room.
Even this circle officer of Jawahar Nagar and the area DSP Bhavani Singh said that the hostel warden informed the police station that Jaad did not came out of his room since Tuesday evening. The police was informed by 10:00 p.m.
The DSP said that no suicide note was recovered and reason behind the suicide is still unknown. The investigation on the case has started but the suicide case in Kota has no end even after various safety measures taken by the government.
