Chicago: Brianna Hill, a law student from Loyola University School of Law in Chicago was preparing for her Bar Council exams in her pregnancy. The exams happened over two days when she was in labour. Bar exams are one of the most competitive exams which are quite difficult to crack and Ms. Hill completed them while experiencing the labour pains. The exams were supposed to be held on July 28 but got postponed to October due to coronavirus pandemic and then taken through the online mode. While writing the exams remotely, her water broke.

“I thought I would only be 28 weeks pregnant when I took the Bar,” Ms. Hill told CNN. “However, due to pandemic, the test was pushed to October and I was going to be 38 weeks. I joked about taking the test from my hospital bed. Lesson learned!”

The duration of the exam was 90 Minutes and had to be taken over two days. She said candidates had to sit in front of the computer for the whole time so that they do not cheat.

According to the report by New York Times, Ms. Hill did not know that she will go through labour pain. She requested the examiners for the additional toilet breaks but they denied, and this became more challenging for her.

“I started the section and 15 to 20 minutes in, I started getting contractions. I has already asked for an accommodation to get up and go to the bathroom because I was 38 weeks pregnant and they said I’d get flagged for cheating. I couldn’t leave the view of the camera.,” she told ABC News.

However, Hill was determined to complete the exam, she kept writing until the first section was finished. Then she took a break before writing the second section of the exam.

“I took my break, got myself cleaned up, called my husband, midwife, and mom. My mom cried because I was little panicked, then sat down to take the second part because my midwife told me I had time before I needed to go back to the hospital,” she said.

Brianna Hill went to the hospital at 5:30 pm around. She delivered a healthy baby boy after 10 pm. He was named Cassius Phillip Andrew.

Meanwhile, the second part of the exam was yet to be finished, so the hospital staff arranged a private room for her and put a ‘Do not disturb’ sign board o the door so that no one could enter the room.

According to ABC News report, Hill completed rest of the exam and in that room while nursing her baby during breaks.

This is how netizens reacted after knowing this incident:
