Telangana’s Fab Three Knock on Indian Wheelchair Cricket Team Door
By Abhishek Kumar
Telangana is celebrating the rise of three differently-abled cricketers who are making their mark in wheelchair cricket. Monu Shek, Arun John and Rohith Parshuram have been performing strongly and are now in contention for a place in the Indian national wheelchair cricket team.

Monu Shek (27) from Hyderabad is a wicketkeeper-batsman. He lost both hands in a childhood electric shock accident and has a 99% disability. Despite this, he balances a private job along with cricket. Monu has also been recognized by the Telangana government for promoting sports inclusion.
Arun John (36) from Warangal is the captain of the Telangana wheelchair cricket team. He suffered a spinal cord injury in 2011 but did not give up. Instead, he started the Telangana Divyang Wheelchair Cricket Association (TDWCA) to support players like him. His leadership has inspired many differently-abled cricketers.
Rohith Parshuram (26) from Siddipet is a fast bowler who has quickly made his name. Known for his pace, Rohith has already delivered match-winning spells in national tournaments.
The trio have played in national-level T20 tournaments under the Differently Abled Cricket Council of India (DCCI). They also helped Telangana register wins against strong sides like Gujarat and Goa. Their consistent performances have brought them close to Indian team selection, with an upcoming series against Bangladesh on the cards.
Their story is one of determination and passion, showing how wheelchair cricket is growing as a platform for talent in India.
