So sorry? Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal apologises to Finance Minister Arun Jailtey

Continuing his streak of apologies, Delhi’s Chief Minister, Arvind Kejriwal’s letter finds new address, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley.

Calling him corrupt in 2015, Finance Minister, Arun Jaitley, filed a defamation case against the Aam Aadmi Party chief.

Though we belong to two different political parties, I believe that we should end the unsavoury litigations between us and serve the people of our country to the best of our abilities,” said the letter from the Chief Minister of Delhi, who has been sending apology letters to extricate himself from defamation cases filed against him in different states.

The FM filed a defamation case of Rs 10 crore as damages after Mr Kejriwal and other AAP leaders accused him of corruption during his 13-year-long tenure as the head of the Delhi cricket association DDCA. Another defamation case was filed against him after his lawyer, Ram Jethmalani, used a slur while cross-examining Arun Jaitley.

“…I have recently discovered that the information and imputation contained are unfounded and unwarranted and I was clearly misinformed into making these allegations,” said the letter from Mr Kejriwal and other AAP leaders to Mr Jaitley.

The senior minister and BJP veteran had also named Sanjay Singh, Ashutosh, Kumar Vishwas, Deepak Bajpai and Raghav Chadha in his lawsuit.

Last month, Mr Kejriwal offered three apologies to come out of the legal abyss of more than 30 defamation cases.
