SIX MILITANTS KILLED IN JAMMU AND KASHMIR

A gunfight started between militants and security forces in Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday. Six militants were killed in the fight according to the report given by the ANI news agency. The agency also reported that security forces recovered arms and ammunition from the site.

Those six militants belonged to the Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind outfit led by former Hizbul Mujahideen commander Zakir Musa. One of the six was identified as Soleh Mohammad, a supporter of Musa and also the deputy chief of the outfit.

Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind is a cell of Al-Qaeda operating in the Kashmir valley. The search for the presence of more militants there is being conducted by the security forces, police said. He further explained the situation where the forces were conducting searches when militants started firing on them.
