Shocking! National Film Award Winner Sanchari Vijay declared brain dead.

National Film Award Winner and Kannada Actor Sanchari Vijay who had met with a road accident in Bengaluru have passed away today. The actor met with an accident on Saturday evening and had received grievous injuries. Despite an emergency brain surgery, he could not be saved and was announced brain dead.

His brother Siddhesh Kumar informed the media that the family has decided to donate the actor’s organs. “The brain stem has stopped functioning, so we have decided to donate his organs. Vijay always believed in serving society, which we are fulfilling by donating his organs,” Siddhesh said.

Vijay was riding pillion with his friend Naveen on a bike when it skidded and hit an electric pole. Naveen fractured his leg but Vijay was grievously injured. The accident took place around 11:45 PM on Saturday, When the Covid- Induced lockdown was still in force.

It is said that they had gone out on the bike to buy medicines. A case has also been registered against Naveen.

“He (Vijay) was in a serious condition when we received him in the Emergency Department. A CT scan of the brain was done which showed very severe brain injury in addition to a subdural hematoma (brain bleeding). Immediate brain surgery was done to remove the brain hemorrhage,” said Dr. Arun Naik, senior consultant neurosurgeon at the Apollo Hospital in Bengaluru said on Monday morning.

For the unversed Sanchari Vijay made his debut with the film Rangappa Hogbitna in 2011. He has appeared in a slew of Kannada films including Dasavala, Harivu, Oggarane, Sipaayi among others. Vijay rose to fame with the Film Naanu Avanalla Avalu which also fetched him his first National Award.
