Rohit Sharma Big Statement on Test Cricket

By Abhishek Kumar

Former India captain Rohit Sharma has shared his thoughts on Test cricket after announcing his retirement earlier this year. Rohit said that playing the longest format of the game is not easy as it takes a lot of mental and physical strength to perform for five days.

Rohit, who retired from Tests in May 2025, explained that mental fatigue was one of the biggest reasons behind his decision. He said that Test cricket is very demanding and a player has to remain completely focused all the time The 37-year-old opener also spoke about how important preparation is for red-ball cricket. He said his early years in club cricket and first-class cricket taught him how to stay at the crease for long hours and handle pressure. According to him, in Test cricket, the mind must always stay fresh along with the body.

Rohit Sharma played 67 Tests for India, scoring 4,301 runs with several match-winning knocks. He will always be remembered for his ability to give India solid starts at the top and also for his centuries in big games.

His statement once again shows why Test cricket remains the toughest format, where only those with strong skills and strong mindsets can succeed.
