RACISM PREVAILS?? – INDIAN MAN BEATEN UP IN ADELAIDE

A 23 year old Indian man, residing in Adelaide, assaulted in a dispute over parking. The man, identified as Charanpreet Singh was brutally beaten by some unidentified assailants.
This incident occurred near Kintore Avenue,a busy stretch at the centre of the city. He got severe injuries which included facial fractures, brain trauma, after being repeatedly punched by those assailants. He was left unconscious in central Adelaide on Saturday night.
The victim described this incident as a racially motivated attack over the parking dispute. He , as an Indian immigrant was racially assaulted by some people of Adelaide.
He told Australian broadcast 9News that he was sitting in his car when this group of men came to him and started screaming smut to him, he also told them that they came and started speaking racial language and then started punching, which landed him in hospital. In connection with this incident, a 20-year old man from Enfield was arrested and charged with assault.
9News reported that other assailants left the scene before police arrived. Police asked the neighbours and other people if the could tell anything about the incident that can help them catch those assaulters.
The victim, in hospital, said to 9News that “Things like this, when they happen, it makes you feel like you should go back. You can change anything in your body but you can’t change the colors”. His this statement shows his pain of being assaulted in a country in which he has no-one of his own.
This incident is seen as a threat to international students and immigrants and brings a wave of concern of their safety to them.
South Australian Premier Peter Malinauskas said as quoted: “Any time we see any evidence of any racial attack , it is completely unwelcome in our state and just not consistent with where the majority of our community are at.”
The police investigations are ongoing and other assaulters will be caught soon hopefully.
