“Pull me down, I will come back stronger” – Dutee Chand 1st Indian to win gold at World University Games

A woman is like a tea bag- you never know how strong she is until she gets in hot water. And today Dutee Chand a student of Kalinga Institute of industrial technology has won the Gold Medal in women’s 100-meter sprint at the 30th summer university games in Italy, becoming the first Indian to do so.

The 23-year-old Dutee, running in lane number 4 was the first of the eight athletes who clocked 11.32 seconds to win the gold and led the race from start to finish.

After winning the race, Dutee who recently admitted to being in a homosexual relationship tweeted: “Pull me down, I will come back stronger.”

“That message was of my family, my elder sister Saraswati and mother Akhuji, who are against my same-sex relationship,” Dutee later told TOI from the southern Italian city.
Dutee proved that no Sex, gender, cast, etc., matters but what matters a lot is your hard work and blessings.
Sooner after her historic win in Napoli, she is yet to qualify for the world championships to be held in Doha in September-October.
