Director Hanu Raghavapudi’s upcoming period actioner, starring Prabhas and Imanvi, has been confirmed to be released in two parts. Here’s what he had to say about it.

The film industry is grappling with sequel fatigue, largely due to the proliferation of big spectacle films since Baahubali. These films have consistently promised unnecessary sequels for a decade now. While a few films have managed to deliver not just sequels but also make them as grand as Sukumar’s Pushpa or Prashanth Neel’s KGF, Fauzi director Hanu Raghavapudi believes he has a compelling reason for splitting his film, Fauzi, starring Prabhas and Imanvi, into two parts.

Director Hanu confirmed that Fauzi will be released in two parts, with the second film serving as a prequel. The director mentioned that the second installment will delve into “another dimension” and will have “plenty to explore from India’s colonial past.”

“In this movie, we’re presenting one world of Prabhas, and the second installment will delve into another dimension. There’s a wealth of material from our colonial past stories that ended tragically but could have been enchanting fairy tales in an alternate reality. Additionally, I’ve incorporated a few personal experiences that have inspired me,” Hanu stated in a statement, as reported by PTI.

Fauzi, Prabhas’s first film with director Sita Ramam, is a fictionalized retelling of historical events. Prabhas’s first look from the film was released on his birthday, October 23. The poster featured the tagline: “A battalion who fights alone.” Produced by Mythri Movie Makers, the film is scheduled for release in theaters in 2026 in all South Indian languages and Hindi.
