The ODI series between Pakistan and West Indies is now tied 1-1 after West Indies fought hard to win the rain-affected second game at Brian Lara Stadium, Trinidad.
In the second ODI, West Indies chased a revised target of 181 runs under the DLS method. Their batting was led by Roston Chase, who played a calm and unbeaten 49 runs off 47 balls. Sherfane Rutherford’s quick 45 runs helped put pressure on Pakistan’s bowlers. Jayden Seales bowled well to restrict Pakistan to 171 runs for 7 wickets.
Pakistan’s bowlers struggled in the middle overs, especially part-timers Saim Ayub and Salman Agha, who gave away 66 runs without taking any wickets. Pakistan captain Mohammad Rizwan admitted that their fifth bowling option is a concern ahead of the decider.
The first ODI was won by Pakistan, with Hassan Nawaz scoring a crucial knock to help chase the target with 7 balls to spare.
Now, the series moves to a final decider on Tuesday, where both teams will battle it out for the series win. Pakistan will look to fix their bowling lineup, while West Indies will try to maintain their momentum.
