Forest Department Gautam Buddha Nagar organised World Wetland Day Celebration at Surajpur Wetland
This important day serves as a global reminder of the invaluable role wetlands play in maintaining biodiversity, improving water quality, and regulating the climate. Wetlands are not only vital habitats for countless species of flora and fauna, but they also provide essential ecosystem services such as water filtration, flood control, and carbon storage.

The event featured a variety of exciting and educational activities, including guided nature walks, bird watching sessions, informative talks, and interactive workshops on wetland conservation. These activities are designed to engage the community, raise awareness about the importance of wetlands, and inspire action toward sustainable practices that benefit both the environment and local communities.
In addition, there was a special exhibition showcasing local wetland species, water conservation techniques, and successful restoration projects. Local students and environmental enthusiasts had the opportunity to present their research and ideas for preserving our wetlands, creating a platform for youth involvement in conservation.
