Noida hosted mega plantation drive of 5000 trees under Anrit Van Yojana

Under the 5000 Amrit Van Yojana being implemented by the Government of Uttar Pradesh, a plantation program was organized today under Amrit Van No. 931502, wherein 3000 saplings were planted in the green belt area near Sector-144 Metro Station, Noida. The plantation was done on a plot measuring 12100 sq. meters located in Plot No. 291, Village Suthiyana, Tehsil Dadri, District Gautam Buddh Nagar.

This scheme, initiated on 25.05.2025 as per the instructions of Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Yogi Adityanath Ji, aims to establish 5000 Amrit Vans across the state by 15 August 2025. In Gautam Buddh Nagar, the target is to plant 5000 saplings in each of 10 Amrit Vans, making a total of 50000 saplings under the campaign. As part of this, today 3000 saplings were planted under Amrit Van No. 931502.

Senior Indian Forest Service Officer Shri Sanjay Singh, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (Planning), Uttar Pradesh, and other senior IFS officers planted saplings under the Amrit Van program. The District Magistrate of Gautam Buddh Nagar, IAS Shri Manish Verma, also participated in the plantation drive.

On this occasion, Chief Conservator of Forests Shri Sanjeev Mehra, Divisional Forest Officer Shri Pramod Shrivastava, District Horticulture Officer, District Panchayati Raj Officer, Municipal Corporation officers and employees, and many school children were present. The plantation was conducted jointly by Gautam Buddh Nagar Forest Division and the Forest Corporation in the green belt behind Sector-144 Metro Station.

Senior officers including Principal Director Shri Sanjeev Mehra, Additional Director Shri Shrivastava, Shri Manoj Shrivastava, and Divisional Forest Officer Shri Pramod Shrivastava were present. The plantation program was led by District Magistrate Shri Manish Verma.

The Chief Guest Shri Mehra addressed the gathering, highlighting the importance of plantation and environmental protection. He stated that planting trees is not only about increasing greenery but also about maintaining ecological balance and ensuring a better future for coming generations. He appealed to the public to adopt and nurture plants like family members.

This Amrit Van will contribute to urban afforestation, air purification, biodiversity enhancement, and public awareness on environmental protection. A total of 3000 saplings were planted with participation from students, local residents, government officials, and NGOs. Saplings planted included species like Neem, Peepal, Bargad (Banyan), Jamun, Arjun, etc., which are environmentally beneficial and culturally significant.

To ensure plant survival, the Forest Department has made complete arrangements for irrigation, protection from grazing, and regular monitoring. Volunteers and Resident Welfare Associations have also pledged their support.

This plantation effort is part of the Green Uttar Pradesh Mission 2025. Citizens are urged to plant at least one tree in their homes or surroundings and care for it until it matures, thereby contributing to environmental protection.
