New Delhi, recently hosted the International Young Women Breast Cancer Conference, The is event aimed to address the alarming rise of breast cancer among young women globally. The presence of several eminent global figures showed the urgency of combating this growing public health crisis.
The experts attribute this rise in young women to a combination of lifestyle, environmental, and biological factors such as:-
- Sedentary lifestyles and poor diets leading to obesity and hormonal imbalance
- Delayed pregnancies and reduced breastfeeding, altering long-term hormonal exposure
- Increased stress levels, which may influence hormonal activity
- Environmental pollutants, endocrine disruptors, and microplastics affecting cellular health
- Greater awareness and better screening, which also contribute to higher detection rates
The consensus among attendees was clear: early screening, awareness, and advanced diagnostic technologies are crucial in reversing these trends.
