Boycott Eros Now turned top Twitter Trend on Thursday morning as netizens were horrified with the Eros Now Navratri posts on Facebook and Twitter.
A section of the internet is upset with Eros Now for allegedly ‘violating’ the religious festival of Navratri by ‘mocking’ and ‘insulting’ it.
Eros Now shared a set of memes photographs saying “N stands for naughty. So does Navratri. Chalo, which pickup line would you use to woo your bae this festive season?
Sharing the alleged screenshots of Eros Now’s Navratri Posts and using the hashtag Boycott Eros Now Netizens are showing their displeasure regarding the posts.
Amid witnessing such backlash Eros now deleted their post from social media and shared a new post where it says that ” We at Eros love and respect our culture equally. It is not, and it has never been, our intention to hurt anyone’s emotions. We have deleted the concerned posts and we apologize for having offended anyone’s sentiments.”
It is hard to understand why someone would want to share pick up lines on a festival that centers around worshipping the goddess.
Eros now named after the Greek God of love has taken things a bit too far with its overtly sexual pick up lines for Navratri, So backlash was inevitable. Eros might merely have been trying to be funny but it’s clear that it’s joking hasn’t gone down well on social media.
