NEGLIGENCE KILLED A ONE-YEAR OLD

Shivansh Joshi , a one-year old kid ,son of an army officer , Dinesh Chandra Joshi, who showed signs of dehydration on July 10 , including regular vomiting, his mother took him to the Public Health Centre (PHC) in Chamoli’s Gwaldam . Reportedly , they didn’t have a pediatrician so he was referred to the community health centre in Bageshwar ‘s bajinath which was 22 km away.
The child’s health deteriorated in CHC then he was referred to another district hospital in Bageshwar. His father alleged that there the doctor was busy on the phone and the nurses were busy laughing and didn’t pay attention to his 14 year old son’s emergency case and referred him to Almora.
According to the child’s mother , she said that she called an ambulance at 7 pm but there was no immediate action. Her husband was on duty in Jammu and Kashmir. He talked to the district magistrate for help and then the ambulance arrived at 9:30 pm and then the child was taken to Almora medical College , the fourth hospital where the doctor referred him to Nainital ‘s Haldwani.
On July 12 , the boy was put on a ventilator but on July 16 , he was declared dead. This incident is of Uttarakhand. The parents lost their child due to recklessness. Chief Minister Dhami condemned the incident and ensured strict action against those responsible for the death of the child.
