Neeraj Chopra enters Final in World Athletics Championships

In Tokyo India’s star Javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra started his campaign in style at the 2025 World Athletics Championships Neeraj secured his place in the final with just one attempt as he threw 84.85 metres crossing the automatic qualifying mark of 84.50 metres. With this throw Neeraj didn’t need to take the remaining attempts and confirmed his spot for the men’s javelin final which will take place on 18 September The defending World Champion once again showed his big match temperament and gave India a perfect start in the event

Germany’s Julian Weber also looked in fine form as he qualified with a best of 87.21 metres while Pakistan’s Arshad Nadeem the Olympic Champion advanced from Group B The stage is now set for a high-voltage contest between Neeraj and Nadeem in the final. Other Indian throwers Sachin Yadav Rohit Yadav and Yash Vir Singh participated in the qualification rounds but failed to meet the automatic mark.
Now all eyes will be on Neeraj as he looks to defend his crown and add another golden chapter to Indian athletics. The final will be played on Thursday in Tokyo.
