June 23, 2022 (New Delhi): The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) on Wednesday in a special court against 35 accused including actress Rhea Chakraborty, her brother Showik and Sushant’s manager, cook and roommate in the drugs case related to late actor Sushant Singh Rajput. Draft Charge has been filed.
The Narcotics Control Bureau through its Special Public Prosecutor Atul Sarpande filed this draft in a special court in Mumbai. According to Sarpande, he has maintained the charges against all the accused which were mentioned in the charge sheet filed before the court. He has urged the court to frame charges like purchase and payment of narcotics.
Let us tell you that, the NCB has booked the accused under sections 8 (C) of 20 (B) (II) (A), 22, 27, 27 A, 28, 29 and 30 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act (NDPS Act). Allegations were made. Under these sections, the accused were alleged to be related to the sale and purchase of any narcotic substance.
According to PTI, Atul Sarpande said that the court was about to frame charges against all the accused. However, this could not happen as some of the accused have filed discharge applications. Sarpande said that the court has said that only after the decision on the discharge application, charges will be framed against all. In this case, all the accused including Riya and Shovik appeared in the court on Wednesday.
However, now Special Judge VG Raghuvanshi has fixed July 12 for hearing matters related to the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act i.e. Drugs Case. It is to be known that Sushant was found dead at his home in Bandra on June 14, 2020. The CBI is probing the case related to his death.
