NATIONAL ENCOURAGEMENT DAY: THE POWER OF WORDS

By Anshika Khera

National Encouragement Day is observed every year on September 12 to remind us of the power of kind words and positive actions. It is a day dedicated to uplifting others, spreading hope, and motivating people to keep moving forward despite challenges. Encouragement may seem small, but it has the ability to change someone’s outlook, boost confidence, and inspire progress.

On this day, people are urged to take a moment to recognize the efforts of those around them—whether it’s family, friends, colleagues, or even strangers. A simple compliment, a thoughtful message, or a few words of support can make a lasting difference. National Encouragement Day emphasizes that encouragement does not require grand gestures; rather, it is the little acts of kindness that matter most.

The day also serves as a reminder for self-encouragement. Just as we uplift others, we must also motivate ourselves to stay resilient and positive. Schools, workplaces, and communities often celebrate the day by sharing inspirational quotes, writing thank-you notes, or engaging in acts of kindness.

In essence, National Encouragement Day is about fostering a culture of positivity. By lifting each other up, we create stronger connections and a more hopeful world.
