National Dengue Day: Know about its symptoms and early cure

The risk of diseases like dengue-malaria and chikungunya increases in monsoon. In this season, along with bacterial and viral infections, complaints of many mosquito-borne diseases start coming. Dengue is one of these serious diseases, due to which a huge rush of patients is seen in almost every hospital. Dengue can become a deadly disease. In such a situation, apart from preventing dengue, it is advisable to recognize the symptoms of dengue on time and treat it.

Although dengue can happen to people of any age, the effect of this disease is rapid in children. In dengue, platelets start decreasing continuously, due to which the disease becomes fatal. Dengue symptoms usually last for 2-7 days. Children often go out of the house to play. They roam in the grass in parks etc. In such a situation, children can easily fall prey to dengue.

Symptoms:

Dengue symptoms in children are milder than in adults. Dengue symptoms in infants and children are similar to those of viral flu.
Children may get a fever, which may last for a week.

Dengue can cause irritability, lethargy, bleeding gums or noses, skin rashes, and vomiting more than three times a day in children.
In dengue, children may have high fever for a while.
Older children may complain of eye pain, muscle pain, joint pain, and severe headache.
If your child develops a fever, see a doctor immediately.
The symptoms of dengue and chikungunya are similar, so the doctor may recommend a blood test to detect dengue.
For the treatment of dengue, doctors can give paracetamol to reduce fever or give some medicine to relieve joint pain and reduce fever.
In dengue, the platelet level may decrease and bleeding may occur. In such a situation, do not give any kind of anti-inflammatory medicine or ibuprofen to the children.
To protect children from dengue, do not take them out of the house during the rainy season.
Make children wear full sleeve clothes in the monsoon.
Keep the house clean. Use mosquito repellent.
Keep the windows and doors closed in the evening.
Do not store water in the house. Mosquitoes come from it.
