Mumbai Police Officer Sachin Vaze Arrested over Bomb Scare Near Mukesh Ambani’s Antilia.

Mumbai Police officer Sachin Vaze was arrested on Saturday late night by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) in connection with the probe into the SUV filled with explosives found near industrialist Mukesh Ambani’s house.

Encounter Specialist Vaze was arrested at 11:50 pm on Saturday, after being questioned for 12 hours by the NIA.

An NIA spokesperson quoted that Sachin Vaze was arrested Allegedly “for his role and involvement in placing the explosives-laden vehicle near Carmichael road”.

Vaze was earlier summoned at the NIA’s Mumbai Office at Cumballa Hill in South Mumbai around 11:30 am to record his statement.

The Maharashtra Anti – Terrorism Squad (ATS) which is probing the death case also recorded Vaze’s statement earlier this week in which he has denied using the SUV that was in possession of Mansukh Hiran.

For the unversed A Scorpio car laden with gelatin sticks and a threat letter was found outside the Mumbai residence of industrialist Mukesh Ambani on February 25. Assistant Police Inspector Sachin Vaze was the first investigating officer in the Ambani bomb scare case but was later removed.

Since then the probe in the case has been taken over by the NIA. Sachin Vaze is also being investigated for his alleged role in the death of the businessman Mansukh Hiren, who was the owner of the Scorpio found near the Ambani’s residence.

Hiren was found dead in a creek in the Thane district on March 5.Sachin Vaze has been accused by Mansukh Hiren’s wife of involvement in her husband’s suspicious death.

Moreover, the Maharashtra government had transferred Sachin Vaze from the crime branch to the Citizen Facilitation Centre of the Mumbai Police.

Earlier Sachin Vaze had been involved in 63 encounters and was suspended in 2004 for the alleged custodial death of Khwaja Yunus. He was reinstated in the service in June 2020 and was heading the CIU of the Mumbai Crime Branch.

Before heading to the NIA office, Sachin Vaze posted a cryptic WhatsApp status claiming that he is falsely implicated in the case and the ‘time to say goodbye’ to the world is getting closer.

Mumbai police officer Sachin Vaze will be presented by NIA before a court later today demanding his custody.
