In the massive seizure of contraband in the drugs case linked to actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s death, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has recovered hashish, besides other drugs, and cash worth crores during raids at various locations in Mumbai’s posh Andheri West area, sources said. Seized drugs include 5 kilograms of hashish – worth Rs2.5 crore – and small quantities of opioids and MDMA, street name Ecstasy.

The agency has also arrested missing drugs supplier Regel Mahakal – under its scanner for a long time – who has given information based on which more raids are being conducted in the city.

The accused whose locations are being raided is the main supplier of drugs to Regel Mahakala, sources said.

“Today, we have arrested Regel Mahakal we will be producing him in the court. We cannot disclose his links with late actor’s girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty and her brother Showik,” said NCB Zonal Director Sameer Wankhede, who is leading the operations.

According to sources, Regel Mahakala used to supply drugs to another accused Anuj Keshwani, who was arrested in September. Keshwani allegedly supplied drugs to Rhea Chakraborty and Sushant Singh Rajput, who was found dead in his Mumbai apartment June 14 this year.

After Rajput’s death, many investigation departments like Enforcement Directorate (ED), Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) started probe on SSR’s girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty, friend Sandip Ssingh, and others who were arrested by NCB in September 2020 and later granted bail.

Many Bollywood actresses like Deepika Padukone, Sara Ali Khan, Rakulpreet Singh and Shraddha Kapoor were questioned regarding the drug probe by NCB. Last month actor Arjun Rampal and comedian Bharti Singh and her husband Harsh Limbachiyaa were arrested by NCB for the same.
