#MeToo Movement: Alok Nath Accused Of Rape By Director Vinta Nanda
The #MeToo movement has started in India and it’s both, horrifying and empowering. Recently, Vinta Nanda, producer and writer of popular 90’s soap, Tara, accused Alok Nath of raping her 20 years ago. The producer wrote a long post on her Facebook revealing details of everything that had happened with her.
Alok has finally reacted to the allegations. The actor said, “That’s her perspective that you’ve gone through and it’s really horrific and it’s like something terrible and that’s her prerogative, her own personal perspective. So I give her a chance, you know, let her, whatever she felt or whatever happened, to be made public.
When asked about how Vinta said that she was intoxicated after which everything happened, Alok says, “Firstly, let’s not blame the alcohol. Secondly, it’s her perspective.” On being asked what his perspective here is, he added, “No, I don’t want to clear my perspective here. In any horrific incident, a single person isn’t involved.
Either it’s a ghost or another human being. So she’s had a related incident, which is fine.” He further went on to say, “From my point of view, it is something which is a fragment of a certain imagination, from a person for whom I did a lot of things in life. I don’t want to discuss it right now.” The actor also said that he will speak about this when he has more clarity since he has just read about the entire scenario.
