The third day of Navratri, observed nationwide today, focuses on the worship of Goddess Chandraghanta, a mighty form of Durga symbolizing bravery and inner peace. Temples and households saw devotees dressed in royal blue, the color associated with today’s rituals, as prayers and fasting marked the occasion.
Maa Chandraghanta, named for the crescent moon adorning her forehead, represents courage and grace. According to Hindu tradition, her blessings are sought to dispel negativity and provide strength. Rituals included the recitation of Chandraghanta’s mantra and offerings of milk, fruits, and sweets, believed to promote prosperity and harmony.
Festivals across India featured cleaned altars adorned with blue flowers, while families observed fasts and prepared sattvik food for the evening. Priests conducted special ceremonies, and community events promoted peace and unity. Devotees emphasized the importance of inner calm and resilience by meditating and chanting sacred verses throughout the day.
Royal blue, symbolizing tranquility and spiritual discipline, was prominent in decorations and attire. The choice of color is said to attract the Goddess’s blessings and foster positive energy in homes and temples.
As Navratri progresses, the third day serves as a reminder of the power of faith and the need for courage and harmony in daily life. Observances will continue tomorrow, honoring another form of Goddess Durga as the festival moves forward
