Khargone Bus Accident: Bus fell from 50 meter-high bridge, 15 dead and counting
Bus number MP10-P-7755 of Maa Sharda Travels, which was going from Khargone to Indore (cities in Maharashtra, India). The accident happened on the Khargone-Thikri road. The bus was passing through a bridge over a river when it suddenly fell down. There was a loud noise and there was chaos. There were more than 35 passengers inside the bus. The accident happened in Dasanga village. Villagers informed the police, and police personnel along with the villagers are engaged in helping the injured. After getting the information about the incident, MLA Ravi Joshi also left for the spot.
In conversation with MLA Ravi Joshi, who reached the spot, the villagers said that the buses are overloaded and pass at a high speed every day. Many times we interrupted the bus drivers, but they do the bullying.
The state government has announced financial assistance of Rs 4 lakh to the families of those killed in the bus accident in Khargone, Rs 50,000 to the seriously injured, and Rs 25,000 to the minor injured. Along with this, arrangements for proper treatment of the injured in the accident will be made by the state government.
What happened:
A passenger bus fell down from the bridge over Borad river. The river is dry. Because of this, a large number of people have been injured. According to preliminary information, 15 people have died. However, the police and administration are yet to confirm the deaths. The death toll could rise to 20. The driver, conductor, and cleaner are also reported to have died in the accident. Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan expressed grief over the bus accident in Khargone and expressed his condolences to the families of the deceased.
