ISRO Satellite Is Launching Today To Improve India’s Private Space Ecosystem

The launch will a mark a turning point paving the way for greater collaboration between ISRO and private player and positioning India as a intimidating force in the global space economy.

India’s trusted workhorse rocket the polar satellite launch vehicle (PSLV) is poised for a dramatic comeback after last year’s setback. On January 12 the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) will launch its 64th PSLV mission marking a critical moment for India’s space program and signaling the rise of country’s private space ecosystem.

This mission designated PSLV-C62/EOS-N1 will lift off from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre Sriharikota at 10: 17 am. The flight will carry a total of 15 satellites including a highly classified surveillance satellite named Anvesha developed by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO). Anvesha satellite is designed to provide cutting edge imaging capabilities enabling India to map enemy positions with pinpoint accuracy.
