India’s secularism in danger: Muslim attack on Hindu temple

A heart-wrenching incident took place in the Chandni Chowk area of Old Delhi when some locals of the Muslim community attacked a temple in the night of 30th June(2019). the temple was Durga Mata Mandir in Lal Kuan-Chawri Bazar locality in Hauz Qazi area. There were about 300 to 400 people, who made this attack possible and they all were belonging from the Muslim community. The houses of the Hindu community were also attacked by the Jihadi mob.

The area is estimated to have 5 % Hindus and 95 % Muslims. The bleak mob Muslim community smashed and burnt the statues of gods, curtains, glasses, and fixtures, etc.

The reason behind this tragic incident was an argument over a simple issue of parking, which eventually turned into people throwing stones at each other and which finally resulted in the respective damage. After the incident happened, the police reached the site to prevent further damage and rectified if anyone has been harmed or not.

“The kind of thing done to the temple is unforgivable. I have been told that Police is already in action, culprits will be arrested soon and punished. I appeal to the people to maintain harmony,” Chandni Chowk MP Dr. Harsh Vardhan expressed.

The sad fact is that the CM of Delhi is completely silent about this incident, and it has been two days for which the incident took place. The irony is that we talk about enormous developments in the field of technology like facebook, washing machine, and WhatsApp, etc., but we do not do anything for the alteration of conservative and negative mentality.

The ones who attacked the temple were Indians first and after that, they were Muslims. A place where every religion lives with peace and dignity fails to protect its authenticity today, due to the monsters who live in it.
