“I thought the University is the safest place, nothing can happen to us”; Jamia students on brutality Delhi Police
Students have staged a strong protest against the Citizenship Amendment Bill, in Jamia Millia Islamia, over 50 students were detained by Police.
Jamaat-e-Islami Jind (JIH) has issued statement on, “police brutality” on students, “We condemn this vindictive action on the student community by the police and hold the government of India responsible for this deplorable act. This episode is bound to invite international condemnation sullying the image of our country.”
Jamia students are taking protest against police with the slogan “inquilab zindabad” are being raised by approx 10 students, “Our colleagues have been beaten badly. The policemen entered washroom, libraries and beat up girls. Our protest is against the goons called Delhi Police.”
Students across different Universities, like Aligarh Muslim University, Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Maulana Azad National Urdu University are all set to protest against the police action on Jamia and AMU students, students have boycott exams to show their protest.
“Students and Alumni community of Jamia Milia Islamia are concerned about the violence meted out to the students of University. The police entered the campus without the university authority’s permission and beat up students, injuring dozens, and destroying the University property. Many of them were studying in the University library, which was tear-gassed, and students were detained.” Injured student are still in hospital for their treatment in different hospitals in Delhi
