HRD Ministry announces the NIRF India rankings 2020, IIT Madras retains the first position

The HRD Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ released the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) India Rankings 2020 via live webcast today i.e. June 11, 2020, at 12.00 pm.

A core committee set up by MHRD ranks universities and institutions on certain parameters such as teaching, learning, and resources, research and professional practices, graduation outcomes, outreach and inclusivity, and perception.

IIT Madras retains the first position in the overall and engineering college category followed by IIT Delhi and IIT Bombay at the second and third spots in engineering.

IISc Bangalore, JNU, and BHU ranked the top three universities in HRD Ministry’s annual ranking.

AIIMS, Delhi is declared the best medical college in India for the 3rd consecutive year, follows PGI Chandigarh and CMC Vellore at the second and third spots.

National Law School of Indian University, Bengaluru tops the Law Category and IIM Ahmedabad tops in Management followed by Bangalore and IIM Calcutta at the second and third spot

In the Architecture category, IIT Kharagpur secures the first position and Maulana Azad Institute of Dental Sciences secures 1st position in the Dental category.

Miranda House, retains the first position amongst Delhi colleges followed by LSR and St Stephen’s at third position.
