Grammy Award Winning electronic music duo Daft Punk breaks up after 28 years.

Grammy-Winning French Iconic music duo Daft Punk on Monday have announced that they are splitting up after nearly 28 years.

The group is known for performing while dressed as robots in metallic helmets posted an eight-minute video on YouTube entitled Epilogue to share up their breakup news.

Their publicist Kathryn Frazier also confirmed their breakup without giving any reason for it.

The video titled ‘Epilogue’ was excerpted from their 2006 film ‘Electroma’ in which one of the robot duos is blown up in the desert, followed by a cutaway reading ‘1993-2021’.

Daft Punk was a duo of Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo from France who met at school in Paris.

The reclusive pair of Thomas Bangalter and Guy – Manuel de Homem Christo shunned publicity and were rarely spotted without their iconic robot helmets.

Early singles ‘Da Funk’ and ‘Around the World’ quickly became club fixtures and had led to massive success for their debut album ‘Homework ‘ in 1997.

They emerged as a major mainstream international act when their song “Harder Better Faster Stronger” was nominated for the best dance recording Grammy award in 2008.

In a celebrated career spanning almost three decades, Daft Punk has given several memorable tracks like “One More Time”, “Digital Love”, “Get Lucky”

Daft Punk’s rest of the five Grammy Awards came for its albums “Humans After All” (2006), “Alive 2007” in 2009, and “Random Access Memories” (2014) and the 2014 track “Get Lucky”.
