Friendship day is celebrated every year on the first Sunday of the month of August to celebrate this special bonding between friends, Friendship day is being celebrated on August 2, 2020, in India.

Friendship day is celebrated across various countries like India, Bolivia, Argentina, Brazil, Columbia, and so on. The first friendship day celebration was initiated at Paraguay in 1958 as the ‘International Friendship Day’.

The friendship day is mostly celebrated by exchanging gifts like flowers, cards, chocolates, and wrist bands and posting pictures with each other on social media. This friendship day practice is followed particularly in Asian countries like India, Bangladesh, and Malaysia.

However, due to the Coronavirus pandemic, people have to give it a miss to this lovely occasion or just simply follow the safety guidelines like social distancing for the sake of the health of their friends as well as their loved ones.
