FIFA World Cup 2018: Twitter Explodes After Croatia Crushes Messi’s Argentina
Finalists from four years ago, Argentina are now on the brink of elimination from the FIFA World Cup 2018 .
The first goal came in the second half at 53 minutes after a howler from keeper Willy Caballero as he botched up a clearance and chipped it straight to Ante Rebic in the box, who slammed home a fine volley. Luka Modric doubled his team’s lead in the 80th minute with a trademark shot from outside the penalty area. Ivan Rakitic, who was charged with marking Messi, capped a superb performance with a goal and tapped in from close range in injury time.
Social media was rife with reactions after Argentina’s horror show, with most fans criticising Sampaoli’s tactics. Here are the best ones:
So, is the difference between the Messi of Argentina and the Messi of Barcelona, the quality of the supply chain?

Brilliant from Modric but in all the years of watching Argentina I can’t remember them ever having such a poor side.

Two pictures, the same game, the same protagonist.
Picture one reflects Messi`s patience and hope on his Argentina's teammates to get the ball to him.
Picture two reflects the desesperation and frustration where Messi dropped back and getting the ball from his teammate feet (CB) pic.twitter.com/LKLETfuxqR— Eric Tenllado Ortega (@Tenllado7) June 22, 2018
I am wondering why people are blaming Messi, Higuain, Di Maria, Aguero, Dybala, etc… When you have a set of amazing instrumet players who can't play together in orchestra, have anyone ever blammed the player? No… The conductor shall be the one to blame…

Argentina’s fate depends on the result of the match between Iceland and Nigeria, which will take place on Friday. In their last match of the group stage, they will face Nigeria on Tuesday.
