Federation Say Karunga Appeal – Aman Sherawat’s Emotional Statement After One Year Ban

By Abhishek Kumar

Indian wrestling star Aman Sherawat who recently faced a one year suspension from the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) has finally broken his silence. In his latest media interview, Aman shared his side of the story and made an emotional appeal to the federation saying ( Main Federation se request karunga ki wo mera ban hata de )

Aman who won a bronze medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics was suspended for one year from 23 September 2025 to 22 September 2026 after failing to make weight during the World Wrestling Championships. Because of this ban he will not be able to participate in national trials and is likely to miss the 2026 Asian Games a huge setback for one of India’s brightest wrestling talents.

Explaining the incident Aman said he had been strictly following his weight cutting plan and was just 600 grams away from his target when he suddenly started experiencing severe stomach pain. Despite the pain he tried to push through believing he could shed the remaining weight with a little more time. However his condition worsened and he had no option but to stop. As a result he was declared “overweight” and disqualified from the championship.
In the interview Aman admitted “Main apni galti maanta hoon. Main weight lose kar raha tha lekin jab sirf 600 gram bacha tha tabhi pet mein dard shuru ho gaya. Main socha tha thoda aur kar lunga par dard badhta gaya.

He also expressed regret and promised to come back stronger “Yeh meri pehli galti thi aur main isse seekh kar aur behtar wapas aana chahta hoon.

Sources say the federation is reviewing his written appeal but as of now the ban stands. Fans across the country have come out in support of Aman calling the punishment too harsh for a first-time mistake. With determination in his eyes and the hunger to prove himself again Aman Sherawat now looks ahead hoping the federation gives him a second chance to step back on the mat and make India proud once again.
