A golden chapter of Indian cricket comes to an emotional end! Parvez Rasool the first-ever cricketer from Jammu & Kashmir to wear the Indian jersey has announced his retirement from all forms of cricket. His journey was not just about runs and wickets it was about breaking barriers, defying odds and inspiring an entire generation from the valley

Parvez made history back in 2014 when he became the first player from J&K to represent India in an ODI against Bangladesh Later he also played a T20I against England in 2017 Though his international career had only two appearances, his impact was far greater he became the face of hope for every youngster dreaming from the hills of Kashmir.

In domestic cricket Rasool’s numbers speak volumes! Over 10,000 runs and 600 wickets across formats two-time winner of the Lala Amarnath Best All-Rounder Trophy and the captain who led Jammu & Kashmir to its best-ever Ranji performances. From IPL to Ranji his off-spin and fighting spirit made him a name to remember.

Speaking on his retirement, an emotional Rasool said Playing for India was the proudest moment of my life I just wish I could’ve played Test cricket but I have no regrets I gave everything for my team and my state Now as he steps into the next chapter of his life Parvez plans to enter coaching already holding a BCCI Level-2 certificate. His goal To nurture more stars from J&K and make sure the valley keeps producing champions. From a small town boy to India’s pride Parvez Rasool’s story proves that dreams from the mountains can echo across the world
