Dream11 May Leave BCCI Jersey Sponsorship

By Abhishek Kumar

Fantasy sports company Dream11 may no longer be Team India’s jersey sponsor. This comes after the government passed a new Online Gaming Bill, which bans real-money gaming and also puts rules on ads and sponsorships. Dream11 had signed a three-year deal in 2023 worth ₹358 crore with the BCCI.

Their logo has been on Team India’s jersey since then. But now, before the Asia Cup 2025, this deal may end. Reports say Dream11 is already in talks to leave the sponsorship. If that happens, the BCCI will have to find a new sponsor quickly. Since the Asia Cup is very close, there is also a chance that Team India might play without any sponsor logo on their jersey.

This would be very unusual in modern cricket. BCCI Secretary Devajit Saikia said that the board will always follow the law. If Dream11’s logo breaks the new rule, then they cannot continue as sponsor. The final decision will come soon. But one thing is sure — this news has created big uncertainty for Indian cricket’s sponsorships just before an important tournament.
