Dhurandhar’s advance booking grinds to a halt after a brisk start, putting the Ranveer Singh film at risk of losing momentum.

Dhurandhar’s advance booking has surpassed ₹2 crore, with less than two days remaining before the release of the Ranveer Singh-starrer.
Dhurandhar, starring Ranveer Singh, is just two days away from its release, but ticket sales are not generating the expected buzz. With only 40 hours left before the first show, the pace of advance bookings for the Aditya Dhar film has significantly slowed down. This slowdown has resulted in a considerable loss of momentum for the spy thriller, putting the ambitious film at risk of a disappointing opening at the box office.
Dhurandhar’s advance bookings, which opened on Monday, soared past the ₹1 crore mark within a few hours. However, the sales pace has significantly slowed down since then. As of Wednesday afternoon, the film has sold only 50,000 tickets across India on approximately 3,000 screens. Its total gross for the first day is a meager ₹2.30 crore. While the advance bookings are expected to pick up pace as more screens open up in the remainder of Wednesday and Thursday, the lack of momentum could ultimately impact the final number.
As of Wednesday at 1 pm, the film is selling approximately 1500 tickets per hour on the ticketing platform BookMyShow. This is a relatively low figure for a highly anticipated film that is set to release in just two days. For instance, Tere Ishk Mein, a film that is already running in theaters, is still selling tickets at a rate that is three times higher each hour on the platform. In the past, films of Dhurandhar’s scale have sold as many as 15-20k tickets per hour on BookMyShow before their release. The makers of the film would be hoping that Dhurandhar achieves a similar success on Thursday if they want to ensure a strong opening.
Directed by Aditya Dhar, Dhurandhar is a spy thriller starring Ranveer Singh. The film is set in Pakistan’s notorious gangster hotspot, Lyari. Arjun Rampal, Sanjay Dutt, R Madhavan, Akshaye Khanna, Sara Arjun, and Rakesh Bedi also star in pivotal roles. Dhurandhar is scheduled to release across 5000 screens in India on December 5.
